He played on Motown records, worked with the Wrecking Crew, and later moved into arranging and film and television scoring.

Industrial Origins
The score for The People Under the Stairs marked a departure from traditional symphonic horror soundtracks. Don utilized a blend of early digital synthesizers, metallic percussion, and manipulated audio samples.
Claustrophobic Soundscapes
To create a claustrophobic, industrial soundscape that mirrored the physical imprisonment of the characters, key themes were developed not around melodies, but rhythmic, pulse-pounding textures.
Building the Tension
These textures heightened the anxiety and dread, making the walls of the house feel like they were closing in on the audience as much as the protagonists.
